Two professors at the University of Basra publish a research paper in an Egyptian journal indexed in Scopus

Dr. Huda Kazim Ahmed and Haider Shaker Darwish, faculty members at the Marine Sciences Center at the University of Basra, along with other researchers, published a scientific paper titled

“Predatory Efficiency of Anisops sardea and Sigara lateralis Against Culex quinquefasciatus Larvae in Basra, Iraq”

in the Egyptian Journal of Aquatic Biology and Fisheries, published by the Egyptian Society for the Development of Fisheries and Human Health, which focuses on marine sciences, lakes, and aquaculture.

The journal is considered a reputable scientific publication and is classified as Q3 in Scopus.

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of two species of aquatic predatory insects in controlling mosquito larvae in Basra, Iraq. It concluded that the “backswimmer” is more effective than the “water boatman,” particularly the females of these species.
