Researcher at the Marine Science Center obtains PhD degree

A researcher at the Marine Science Center at the University of Basra, Israa Adel Fadel, obtained her doctorate from the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Fisheries and Marine Resources, at the University of Basra after discussing The study aimed to develop a safe and effective vaccine that contributes to controlling bacterial diseases that threaten fish farming projects and reduces dependence on antibiotics.

The vaccine was developed using a combination of genetic engineering and immunology techniques.

The study aimed to develop a safe and effective vaccine that contributes to controlling bacterial diseases that threaten fish farming projects and reducing dependence on antibiotics. This would promote sustainable and healthy production of common carp.

The study included the effect of the vaccine on fish health and the immune activity of dendritic cells, monitoring immune indicators such as interleukin 6 and 10 and immunoglobulin to ensure immune response balance and vaccine efficacy.

The study concluded that the bacterial vaccine has an effective protective effect in stimulating the innate and adaptive immunity of fish, and that its effectiveness is influenced by the dosage regimen used.

The study recommended expanding the scope of applied studies to verify the efficacy of the inactivated A. hydrophila vaccine under field conditions.

Congratulations to our colleague.
