University of Basra Discusses Environmental Cooperation with the Basra Environment Directorate
​The Director General of the Marine Sciences Center at the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Abdul-Amir Rahim Jassim, received the Director of the Basra Environment Directorate, Mr. Walid Hamid al-Mousawi, during an official visit aimed at strengthening the framework for cooperation between the two sides.
The meeting focused on discussing mechanisms to support environmental studies and research, as well as coordinating efforts to reduce pollution and protect the province’s aquatic environment. Both parties also emphasized the importance of exchanging technical expertise and implementing joint scientific projects and initiatives that contribute to the sustainability of biodiversity and the improvement of institutions’ environmental performance.
