A research team from the Center for Marine Sciences at the University of Basra conducts a field trip to monitor the marshland environment

​As part of its ongoing efforts to serve the local environment and study ecosystems, the Center for Marine Sciences at the University of Basra organized a scientific field trip to the Al-Mashab Marshes on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.
​The trip aimed to conduct environmental monitoring of the marshes and assess their biological and ecological status; the scientific team included a select group of researchers from the center.
​This initiative is part of the center’s regular activities to document and track environmental changes in Iraq’s marshes and support efforts to preserve their biodiversity.
