The Director General of the Marine Sciences Center, Prof. Dr. Abdul-Amir Rahim Jassim, met with the Director of the Basra Tourism Department, Mr. Hussein Al-Rubaie, who was accompanied by a delegation from the Basra Tour Guides Union, to discuss mechanisms for strengthening cooperation among state institutions.
During the meeting, the Director General emphasized the importance of carrying out joint activities with the Tourism Authority, calling on the relevant institutions to develop the tourism sector and make it a major attraction for local and international visitors and tourists.
For his part, the Director of the Basra Tourism Department expressed his thanks and appreciation for the warm reception, noting his admiration for the Center’s scientific advancements and capabilities, particularly in the field of supporting ecotourism.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the delegation presented a Shield of Excellence to Prof. Dr. Abdul-Amir Rahim Jassim, in recognition of the Center’s management’s outstanding efforts in ongoing cooperation, its active participation in official events, and its provision of specialized scientific consultations in the field of ecotourism.
