With the start of the new academic year 2026–2027, the Marine Sciences Center held the first session of its regular council meeting.
The Marine Sciences Center Council held the first session of its regular meeting, chaired by the Council President, Prof. Dr. Abdul-Amir Rahim Jassim, and attended by the esteemed council members.
The purpose of the Board’s first meeting at the start of the new academic year was to outline the Center’s academic, research, and administrative activities for the coming year. This meeting serves as the official launch for organizing efforts, assigning tasks, and guiding department and division heads toward achieving the established strategic objectives.
Highlights of the session included a discussion of the plan for research and scientific activities (seminars, workshops, and conferences) that the Center will carry out during the year.
Guidelines were also issued to department heads regarding adherence to official working hours, the formation of standing committees, and the determination of the Center’s needs for personnel and equipment. The session also emphasized the importance of scientific cooperation with other government and academic institutions, participation in events organized by those entities, and exploring the allocation of the necessary financial resources to cover the costs of scientific and research activities.
