Professor Dr. Wissam Razak Mutashar, a faculty member at the Marine Sciences Center at the University of Basra, served as chair of the committee reviewing the master’s thesis of researcher Maqal Zaman Bahiya in the Department of Earth Sciences at the College of Sciences, University of Basra. The thesis is titled

The thesis aimed to evaluate and analyze the engineering, physical, and mechanical properties of soil and rock (load-bearing layers) at selected sites in Muthanna Governorate to determine their load-bearing capacity for engineering structures and identify geotechnical issues such as subsidence or heaving.
