Faculty Member at the Center for Marine Sciences Participates in a PhD Student’s Thesis Defense Committee

Dr. Arafat Rajab Ahmed, a faculty member at the Center for Marine Sciences at the University of Basra, participated in the thesis defense committee for PhD student Ibrahim Hassan Sahib regarding his dissertation titled

*A Study of the Effects of Starvation and Refeeding on the Physiological and Nutritional Aspects of Common Carp*

in the Department of Fisheries and Marine Resources at the College of Agriculture.

The thesis aimed to study the effects of starvation and refeeding on the physiological and nutritional aspects of common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) and to explore the potential of utilizing compensatory growth to improve fish production efficiency and reduce feed costs.
