The Marine Science Center Explores Opportunities for Joint Cooperation During an Official Visit by Its Director General to the Iraqi Ports Company

Dr. Abdul Amir Rahim Jassim, Director General of the Marine Science Center, accompanied by Dr. Raghad Shubar Jafar, Director of the Center’s Marine Consultancy Office, paid an official visit today to the headquarters of the Iraqi Ports Company in Basra

Upon his arrival, he was received by Mr. Alaa Abdul-Hassan Al-Akili, Director General of the Iraq Ports Company.

The visit aimed to strengthen ties of scientific and research cooperation between the Marine Science Center and the Iraq Ports Company, and to leverage academic expertise to serve the maritime and environmental sectors.

The visit included discussions on avenues for scientific cooperation in vital areas such as monitoring marine pollution, combating oil spills, conducting environmental studies and analyses, and emphasizing support for applied research projects aimed at protecting the marine environment and achieving sustainability, particularly with regard to combating all types of pollution.
