The workshop aimed to enable participants to collect and preserve aquatic insects using precise scientific methods while respecting the aquatic environment.

The workshop, led by lecturer Haider Shaker Darwish, covered how to collect samples using appropriate nets and traps (such as dip nets and light traps), sampling techniques from various environments (rivers, lakes, swamps), and how to record accompanying data (location, water depth, temperature), and the process of preserving samples, including fixation and storage of larval and adult stages
