The University of Basra Organizes a Workshop on Working with Sea Level Data in Total Tide

The Marine Sciences Center at the University of Basra organized a scientific workshop titled “Working with Sea Level Data in Total Tide”

The workshop aimed to enable participants to process and analyze sea level data using the Total Tide software, starting from software installation through to initial modeling and exporting for hydrodynamic modeling or coastal engineering projects.

The workshop, presented by Dr. Ali Abdul-Razzaq Laftah, covered learning how to import time series data for sea level fluctuations, processing and correcting the data by removing outliers through a calibration process with field-measured values using continuous monitoring devices, displaying the results, creating time series plots, calculating averages, determining warning levels, and linking sea level data with bathymetric data or bathymetric surveys.
