The University of Basra Organizes a Course on Bioinformatics

The Marine Sciences Center at the University of Basra organized a training course titled "Introduction to Bioinformatics (Principles and Applications)

The course aimed to provide participants (students of life sciences, medicine, computer science, or researchers) with the basic concepts of storing, analyzing, and interpreting biological data using computational tools, and linking molecular biology with data science.

The course, led by Dr. Hala Fadel Hassan along with a number of researchers, included an introduction to bioinformatics, which has become an essential tool in modern science, bridging biology and technology. It not only helps in understanding complex biological data but also opens new horizons in medicine, scientific research, and innovation, in addition to its connection to other sciences.

It also highlights the most important modern applications in various fields such as the environment and medicine, as well as linking bioinformatics to artificial intelligence and understanding the development of analytical thinking skills through understanding how to extract information from biological data.
