The Center for Marine Sciences at the University of Basra organized an intellectual symposium titled “Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him): Martyrdom and Biography.”

The symposium aimed to present a comprehensive overview of the personality of Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) by linking the event of his martyrdom to his scholarly and educational legacy.

The seminar, featuring presentations by preacher Aqil al-Abadi and Sheikh Raad al-Asadi, highlighted Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq’s (peace be upon him) model of wise intellectual leadership, which confronted tyranny with knowledge and wisdom rather than indiscriminate violence.

It also involved a critical reading of the Imam’s pure biography, linking the past to the present.
