The Marine Sciences Center at the University of Basra participated in an awareness seminar titled **Principles and Ethics of Dealing with Clients in Government Agencies**, held at the General Company for Electricity Distribution in the South, Basra Branch.
The seminar aimed to promote positive professional conduct and improve the quality of services provided in government agencies
The seminar included several topics presented by lecturer Zainab Fadel Al-Tamimi from the Marine Sciences Center at the University of Basra. The first topic explained the concept and principles of dealing with clients through respect and equality, treating all clients without discrimination, listening to them attentively, and demonstrating courtesy and a warm welcome to understand the client’s needs: Practicing active listening skills and asking questions to accurately identify the required service, as well as maintaining transparency and credibility with the client.
The lecture focused on professional ethics,
including the values and principles that public servants must uphold, with an emphasis on integrity, honesty, and strict confidentiality regarding client data,
It also addressed effective communication skills, stress management, practical challenges, and solutions
