Director General of the Marine Science Center Discusses Plans to Advance Scientific Research in the Department of Marine Chemistry and Pollution

As part of his commitment to supporting scientific work, the Director General of the Marine Science Center, Prof. Abdul Amir Rahim Jassim, met with staff from the Department of Marine Chemistry and Pollution on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, to discuss plans, obstacles, and projects of the department with the aim of enhancing the quality of scientific research to meet international standards.

The meeting included a review of the department’s scientific and research achievements, as well as a discussion of current challenges and proposals to overcome them.

The Director General emphasized the need to overcome the technical obstacles facing researchers and stressed the department’s role in providing the community with applied research. He concluded the meeting by pledging full support for the development of laboratories and directing that a monthly report on progress be submitted.
