At the Harir Marshlands Research Station, Marine Science Center, University of Basra, the fifth open session of its regular council is held

The Marine Science Center Council at the University of Basra held its fifth open session, chaired by Dr. Abdul Amir Rahim Jassim, in the presence of his deputy, the secretary of the council, and the heads of the scientific departments.

This session, held at the Ahwar Research Station, aimed to serve as a scientific and environmental gateway to save and develop these vital ecosystems through research and practical application of sustainable solutions and discussion of ways to rehabilitate the Harir Scientific Research Station, given its unique geographical location overlooking the marshes, to attract tourists, visitors, and those interested in eco-tourism.

The session included a focus on enhancing academic quality, discussing strategic plans, approving scientific research, and developing the center's administrative and research performance, with an emphasis on implementing ministerial directives and the directives of the esteemed President of the University of Basra on the need to activate the center's pioneering role and make efforts to upgrade this leading research institution.

This marks the launch of a new phase focused on advancing the center's scientific progress under the collective leadership of its members.

Dr. Abdul Amir noted that this session

is a cornerstone of collective leadership and an important milestone in developing a roadmap for the center to achieve its desired academic and scientific goals.
