The Marine Science Center at the University of Basra organized a scientific lecture entitled "Basics of Writing in the Iraqi Environmental Encyclopedia (Marine Environment Volume).

The lecture aimed to establish a reliable scientific reference that contributes to promoting scientific research, raising awareness of the importance of marine biodiversity, and supporting efforts to preserve marine resources.

The lecture, presented by Dr. Hassan Khalil Hassan, included a comprehensive explanation of environmental encyclopedias, which are organized scientific references that provide documented and comprehensive information on environmental concepts and issues, and are a tool for education, research, and environmental decision-making based on scientific knowledge.

The researcher focused on the basic steps for compiling an environmental encyclopedia, the scientific methodology adopted, and the most effective method for collecting, documenting, and presenting marine topics, ranging from microorganisms to large marine mammals.
