The Marine Science Center at the University of Basra organized a course entitled “Guide to Scientific Research.”

The aim of this course in 2025 was to enable participants to produce high-quality research in line with international academic standards and develop their critical thinking skills, thereby contributing to raising the scientific ranking of universities and solving societal problems through systematic research.

The course, taught by Dr. Amjad Nima Jassim, outlined the methodological foundations for preparing research projects, starting with formulating the research problem and transforming ideas into sound research questions, and ending with the mechanisms of publication in international scientific journals.

It also addressed methods of writing scientific papers in a modern and professional style, the use of advanced software to organize references and document sources accurately, scientific research ethics, how to avoid academic plagiarism, data analysis, and presenting results in a logical and attractive manner.
