The Marine Science Center at the University of Basra organized an awareness course entitled “Algal Toxins and Their Impact on the Environment and Public Health.”

The course aimed to raise awareness of the environmental and health hazards of these toxins.

The seminar, presented by Dr. Aqil Abdul-Sahib Abdul-Jaseen, a lecturer at the Marine Science Center at the University of Basra, included identifying the types of algae that cause poisoning, explaining how they are transmitted and how to recognize them, as well as clarifying preventive measures and possible solutions to reduce their risks, in order to protect humans and the environment.
