
The Marine Science Center at the University of Basra received the National Institutional Accreditation Team as part of the requirements for completing the university's institutional accreditation by the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority of the Quality Assurance and Academic Performance Department of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Dr. Ahmed Youssef, Assistant Director General of the Marine Science Center, confirmed that the Marine Science Center is making confident strides toward fulfilling all institutional accreditation requirements and enhancing its academic, research, and administrative efficiency in line with plans for continuous development and improvement, fulfilling researchers' aspirations, and enhancing their role in serving the community.
The national team's visit represents qualitative support for the university's efforts to instill a culture of quality and advance scientific, research, and service standards. He expressed his confidence that the team's recommendations and observations will serve as an important roadmap for further progress and achievement, and an indicator of the prestigious status the center and university aspire to achieve in their academic and research journey.
The visit aimed to highlight the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's commitment to monitoring and encouraging Iraqi universities to achieve the highest international quality standards, which will enhance the University of Basra's position as a leading scientific institution at the national and regional levels.
