On the occasion of Agricultural Engineer Day, the Marine Science Center at the University of Basra participates in the agricultural cultural program

Dr. Mahmoud Shaker Hashim, faculty member at the University of Basra and head of the Marine Biology Department at the Marine Science Center, participated in the agricultural cultural program organized by the Agricultural Guidance and Training Department at the Basra Agriculture Directorate.

The participation included a scientific lecture entitled “Smart Agriculture to Address the Challenges Facing the Agricultural Sector.”

The lecture provided an introduction to the challenges facing the agricultural sector in Iraq, the importance of using artificial intelligence in modern agriculture, and the application of internet technologies and remote control in agricultural operations.

The lecture aimed to use the least amount of land and water to obtain the best crop production in order to achieve sustainable agricultural production while preserving natural resources.
