Researchers Haider Shaker Darwish and Israa Adel from the Marine Science Center participated in a scientific competition for graduate/doctoral students, “Thesis in Three Minutes,” which was organized at the College of Agriculture at the University of Basra.

This was part of the center's efforts to promote scientific research and encourage academic competition among students.

The competition aimed to highlight the outstanding research projects of doctoral students and provide a scientific platform for exchanging ideas and discussing research challenges in various scientific and research fields, thereby contributing to the development of education and research in Iraq.

The competition included a presentation of a group of research projects before a specialized scientific committee of faculty professors, who evaluated the projects based on their originality, scientific methodology, and novelty of the topic.

At the end of the event, they were honored with certificates of appreciation and shields in recognition of their scientific efforts and research excellence.
