A scientific team of researchers from the Marine Science Center at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Basra Sewerage Directorate, visited Al-Mouwasat Private Hospital. The visit, conducted by researchers Dr. Asaad Muhammad Redha Abdul-Hussein Al-Taie and Dr. Anwar Abdul-Wahab Makki from the Marine Science Center, and Ms. Ibtihal Hamid Hassan from the Basra Sewerage Directorate, included a scientific visit to Al-Mouwasat Private Hospital, in accordance with the scientific cooperation mechanism. Samples were collected from wastewater treatment plants for biological and chemical analysis in the laboratories of the Marine Science Center and the Basra Sewerage Directorate.
The visit aimed to test the water in the hospital's wastewater treatment plants to ensure the safety of the treated water and the effectiveness of the treatment process. This was achieved by examining the quality of the treated water after leaving the plant to ensure the removal of pollutants and the reduction of the concentration of harmful substances to safe levels.
This scientific visit is part of the Marine Science Center's objectives to participate in community service and development through direct and continuous interaction with its economic and service institutions and providing scientific and technical advice to these institutions, enabling the community to benefit from the center's available capabilities.
