Professor Abdul Zahra Abdul Rasool Al-Helou, a lecturer at the University of Basra's Marine Science Center and a member of the Basra Governorate Water Board, participated in the expanded meeting held at the Basra Governorate Diwan.

The meeting included a discussion of the rising salt concentrations in the Shatt al-Arab, the measures taken, and immediate treatment plans.

The meeting was chaired by the Technical Deputy Governor of Basra, Engineer Zaid Al-Imara, and attended by the Director of Basra Governorate Water, Engineer Nizar Nasser Al-Aibi, and relevant authorities. The meeting discussed the water issue and monitored water releases into the Bada'a Canal.
