A team from the researchers of the Marine Sciences Center, in cooperation with the Livestock Department, began the Ministry of Agriculture with a field trail to collect samples from the Shatt Al -Basra channel, as part of an integrated research project aimed at studying the health risks resulting from the consumption of fish gained from Shatt Al -Basra.

This study comes within the framework of an integrated environmental project on the channel, as the team will analyze the combined samples to detect potential pollution levels and biological indicators that may affect the health of consumers.

This study is an important step in assessing the quality of fish wealth in Shatt Al -Basra, and its results will contribute to developing scientific recommendations for the concerned authorities in order to protect the health of citizens and ensure the safety of food sources in the region.
