
Lecturer Hala Fadel Hassan from the Marine Science Center at the University of Basra participated in the Sixth International Scientific Conference of the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies, which was held under the theme "Biotechnology Towards a Sustainable Future" in Al-Hakim Hall at the University of Baghdad.
This participation comes within the framework of the center's ongoing efforts to promote scientific openness and academic communication.
The participation included a presentation titled:
Global Registration of Environmental Bacteria Recorded in NCBI, ENA, and
DDBJ of New Iraqi Isolates.
The research addressed the isolation and identification of 28 bacterial species isolated from different environmental regions of Basra Governorate. These isolates were registered globally for the first time in the American, Japanese, and European Gene Banks as new isolates.
The aim of the research was to identify new bacterial species and strains that play an important role in environmental diversity.
