The Marine Science Center at the University of Basra organized a course on marine fish farming as a strategic option in Basra Governorate to support food security.

The course included a lecture by Assistant Professor Adi Mohammed Hassan Qasim, who addressed the importance of marine fish farming in Basra and the urgent need to establish a marine fish farming and propagation station in Basra as part of sustainability projects. He also discussed the components of the station and the principles that must be considered during design, construction, and operation.

The course aimed to increase fish production per unit of available space in the shortest possible time to support food security.
