A scientific team comprising several researchers from the Marine Science Center at the University of Basra organized a field trip to the mangrove cultivation site in Khor Al-Zubair.

The trip aimed to demonstrate the importance of this new experiment for the sustainable development of Iraqi coasts and their protection from erosion.

The trip included collecting the required samples, conducting field tests, and completing laboratory tests in the center's laboratories.

This was to compare the environmental and biological conditions before and after mangrove cultivation, thus encouraging its cultivation along Iraqi coasts and waterways (kheiran).
