The Director General of the Marine Science Center, Professor Shaker Ghaleb Ajeel, and a number of invited academics participated in the 13th conference held at the College of Law at the University of Basra, in cooperation with Shatt al-Arab Private College. The conference, titled "Legal Protection of the Human Right to Health," coincided with the celebration of the 61st anniversary of the founding of the University of Basra.

The conference focused on the role of universities and scientific research centers as incubators for thought and development in formulating modern legal concepts for the right to health, and analyzing the legal frameworks and legislation enacted by the government with the aim of developing and strengthening them to achieve a fair health system for all Iraqis, ensuring a healthy life.
