The Marine Science Center organized a course titled "Colors of the Seas and Oceans - Causes - and How to Benefit from Them Scientifically"
The course, presented by Faiz Younis Khalil, covered the basics of color and light in oceanography, including their classification, absorption, and how the human eye perceives them.
The lecturer also reviewed the optical properties of seawater, including color and transparency. He also highlighted NASA's Ocean Color Web, which uses scientific instruments and satellites to measure water color by observing land, oceans, and seas.
The course aimed to explore ways to obtain results and use them to address environmental issues, study climate change, and predict future ocean circulation. The course also emphasized the importance of understanding colors in the oceans and seas.
