Basra University organizes a training course on shrimp nutrition

The Marine Science Center organized a training course on shrimp and their nutrition.
The course included a lecture delivered by Dr. Tariq Hattab Yassin, a lecturer at the Marine Science Center at the University of Basra, on shrimp nutrition at all stages of growth and the differences in nutritional requirements across different stages.
The lecture addressed the nutritional needs of river shrimp (Caridiform shrimp) at various stages, which, in turn, differ from the nutritional needs of marine shrimp, most of which belong to the Banaid shrimp group.
The course also highlighted the types of food required for shrimp in hatcheries and rearing tanks, including algae, zooplankton, artemia, and artificial feed.
The aim of the course was to highlight the shrimp farming sector as an important sustainable resource.
