Participation of a lecturer at the Marine Sciences Center at the University of Basra in the Master’s thesis discussion committee

Participation of the lecturer at the Marine Science Center at the University of Basra, Professor Qusay Hamid Abdul Qader, in the discussion committee of the master's thesis of the student Anfal Ali Obaid in the Department of Fish and Marine Resources, College of Agriculture, University of Basra.

The thesis dealt with ''Studying the qualitative characteristics and nutritional value of imported fish species and the extent of their compliance with standard specifications and their suitability for human consumption.

The thesis aimed to study the chemical composition, nutritional value, and some chemical, physical, microbial, and sensory properties of frozen fish meat imported to Iraq in the markets of Basra Governorate (grass carp, humpback, bako, green bayah, golden banban, shank, and nuwaibi),

And studying the concentrations of heavy metal elements and hydrocarbons of imported frozen fish to determine their quality and suitability when compared to the permissible limits in the standard specifications and to determine the quality of fish after comparing them to the standard specifications, in addition to knowing the types of imported frozen fish, as well as their common and scientific names to avoid cases of commercial fraud for certain types of cheap fish as being of high quality.
