University of Basra holds an awareness seminar entitled “The Effect of Drugs and Ways to Reduce Them.” The Marine Science Center at the University of Basra organized an awareness seminar entitled (The Effect of Drugs and Ways to Reduce Them.
The course included several axes presented by
Assistant Professor Dr. Zahraa Saleh Abdul Sahib from the College of Education for Humanities to explain the disadvantages of addiction and the journey of recovery from it and Dr. Sita Aram Kyork from the Marine Science Center who explained combating drugs and ways to treat them.
The seminar addressed the dangers and effects of drugs on the health and societal levels, delivered by Major Ali Jawad Kazim from the Fourth Region Border Command / Relations and Media.
The religious guide Sheikh Widad Abdul Ghaffar participated in explaining the role of religious institutions in preventing drugs.
Among the recommendations that came out of the seminar are: Combating drugs requires harnessing efforts starting with the family and activating the role of the family in guiding its children, and following up on their behaviors according to the values ​​of society to prevent their addiction, in addition to killing this dangerous scourge that has begun to spread among young people and which have been adopted as recommendations to work according to to reduce the spread of the drug phenomenon.
At the end of the seminar, Mr. Assistant / Representing the Director General of the Marine Sciences Center, Professor Dr. Shaker Ghaleb Ajil, presented certificates of appreciation to the participants, in honor of their valuable role in giving lectures and making the symposium a success.
