For sustainable underwater development... University of Basra organizes a course on methods of estimating oxidase and peroxidase enzymes in plant samples

The Marine Science Center at the University of Basra organized a training course on methods for estimating oxidase and peroxidase enzymes in plant models using spectrophotometry techniques and colorimetric methods that detect color changes in solutions.

The course, which was lectured by Dr. Zainab Jawdat Musa, Dr. Enas Qasim Muhammad and lecturer Lama Jassim Muhammad, aimed to understand the response of plants to different environmental conditions and evaluate their physiological efficiency to develop studies related to sustainable development to preserve the biodiversity of aquatic plants.

The course addressed the important role played by

oxidase and peroxidase enzymes in plant metabolism, as they contribute to stimulating oxidation and reduction reactions necessary for plant growth, improving its response to environmental stress, and regulating energy production through the electron transport chain, while peroxidase enzymes contribute to removing toxins resulting from oxidative stress and protecting cells from free radical damage.
