For sustainable environmental development and preservation of natural resources... University of Basra organizes a course on time calculation for emptying water outlets

The Marine Science Center at the University of Basra organized a training course on calculating the discharge time of estuary waters.

The course, which was lectured by the lecturer Sadiq Salem Abdullah, aimed to benefit from mathematical operations in the sustainable development of the aquatic environment and coastal engineering, and provide new insights into the complex dynamics of estuaries in order to make accurate decisions to protect and sustain them.

The course included defining the importance of estuaries as they represent an economic, commercial and tourist wealth and a suitable environment for the reproduction of organisms and fish, and how to calculate the discharge time, which is the time required to replace the water mass in the ecosystem, which is done in two ways, the first is called the fresh water part and the second is the ebb and flow method.
