The Marine Science Center at the University of Basra organized an extensive workshop on the impact of oil industries on the ecosystem in Iraq.

The workshop, which was lectured by Prof. Dr. Faris Jassim Al-Amara, Prof. Dr. Iman Abdul Aal Al-Amara, Assistant Professor Dr. Zuhair Ali Abdul Nabi, and lecturers Mazen Abdul Hussein Badan and Abdul Hussein Ali Al-Ayal, aimed to evaluate the environmental situation and follow up on sustainable development plans in the field of reducing oil pollution.

The workshop included lectures explaining the risks of oil pollutants and their impact on human health and their role in stimulating bacterial activity and how to estimate them using near infrared rays, in addition to the role of nanoparticles in treating them and the impact of oil industries on the environment in general.
