In implementation of the plans of the United Nations Program for the Sustainability and Development of Marine Natural Resources, a scientific team from the Marine Sciences Center, consisting of Dr. Malik Hassan Ali, Dr. Hoda Kazim Ahmed, and lecturer Hanaa Hussein Mohammed, organized a field research trip to the eastern and western breakwaters adjacent to the Grand Faw Port and the Iraqi coast.

The trip aimed to conduct a survey and collect samples from the seabed and marine coasts and monitor and evaluate the development of the biological diversity of marine organisms in order to develop appropriate solutions for sustainable development and solve environmental problems in the region.
