
The Culture and Society Committee at the Marine Science Center organized a joyful celebration today, Sunday, on the occasion of the birth of Lady Fatima Al-Zahra (peace be upon her), in cooperation with the Fatimid Studies Center, Basra Branch, and in the presence of the Director General of the Marine Science Center, Prof. Dr. Shaker Ghaleb Ajil, and the Director of the Fatimid Studies Center, Dr. Thaer Al-Aqili, in Al-Mahri Hall.
The ceremony began with a fragrant recitation from the Holy Quran by the reciter Tahseen Abdul Ali Al-Saimri.
This was followed by a poem by Dr. Mustafa Sami Fadagh, a lecturer at the Marine Science Center, in which he praised the noble morals and virtues of the Lady of the Women of the Worlds.
After that, Dr. Thaer Al-Aqili, Director of the Fatimid Studies Center, gave a lecture that began with congratulating the attendees on the occasion of the birth of Al-Zahra (peace be upon her), reviewing her fragrant biography, speaking about the virtues of Lady Fatima Al-Zahra (peace be upon her), emphasizing her great position in Islam and her prominent role in Islamic history. He expressed everyone's pride in this blessed occasion, pointing out that Lady Fatima Al-Zahra represents a role model in piety, honesty and faith.
Dr. Al-Aqili stressed that Fatima Al-Zahra was a model of virtue and giving, as she embodied in her life the meanings of patience and sacrifice. He said: Lady Fatima Al-Zahra was the best example of a Muslim woman in all aspects of her life, as she was committed to her religion, strong in facing challenges, and an example to be emulated in righteousness and benevolence. Her fragrant biography remains a source of inspiration for future generations on how to coexist with noble values, and how to achieve justice and mercy in society.
He added: Lady Fatima Al-Zahra left a legacy of wisdom and knowledge that we must learn from in our daily lives.
Dr. Thaer Al-Aqili presented scientific and cultural visions about Lady Fatima Al-Zahra, peace be upon her, in his lecture, where he spoke about her great role in the Islamic community, especially through the human and doctrinal values she presented.
The celebration included poetic chants that praised the love of Al-Zahra (peace be upon her) and the family of the Messenger, may God’s prayers be upon them all.
At the end of the ceremony, the Director General of the Marine Sciences Center presented a certificate of appreciation to Dr. Thaer Al-Aqili, Director of the Fatimid Studies Center, Basra Branch, for his contribution to commemorating this occasion.
The Director of Fatimid Studies, Basra Branch, presented certificates of appreciation to Dr. Shaker Ghaleb Ajil, Assistant Dr. Muhammad Faris, and to the members of the Culture and Society Committee at the Center for hosting this blessed celebration.
