The Marine Science Center at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Basra Environment Directorate, organized a course on environmental impact assessment and air pollutant testing using the (CEREX) device to measure gaseous pollutants.

The course, which was managed by Dr. Bassam Ashour Rashid, Dr. Abdul Amir Rahim Jassim and Dr. Fadhel Nima Abdul Redha, aimed to increase the training skills of employees in the Basra Environment Directorate in the field of air quality testing.

The course included theoretical and practical lessons on the importance of air testing in order to study and evaluate the environmental impact and training on the use of the (CEREX) device to measure gaseous pollutants and microbial assessment of air within government institutions.
