A cultural festival that links the Prophet’s biography with the goals of sustainable development

The Department of Biological Evolution at the Marine Science Center, under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Arafat Rajab Ahmed, organized a cultural festival on the occasion of the anniversary of the Prophet's birthday, under the title "Sustainable Development Programs in the Noble Prophetic Biography", with the aim of highlighting the pioneering role of the Prophetic Sunnah in promoting sustainable development concepts.

The festival featured a display of a group of innovative posters, each of which was dedicated to one of the seventeen sustainable development goals identified by the United Nations. Next to each goal, a Prophetic Hadith was displayed that embodied the lofty prophetic values that support the achievement of these global goals.

The idea of the festival was greatly appreciated by the Director General of the Center, as well as by professors and attendees, reflecting the importance of linking the tolerant teachings of Islam with contemporary development issues.

It is worth noting that this initiative comes within the framework of the university's efforts to raise awareness of the goals of sustainable development and link them to the rich Islamic heritage, which contributes to deepening the understanding of students and the academic community of these important issues from a civilizational and religious perspective.
