A research team at the Marine Science Center at the University of Basra, in coordination with the Naval Forces Command, organized a scientific trip to the coral reefs in Iraqi territorial waters.

The trip aimed to conduct assessments, surveys, environmental changes, and study biodiversity in the region.

The trip included collecting various samples of coral and benthic invertebrates.
