The Marine Science Center at the University of Basra held an educational course on (the suitability of using invertebrates for human consumption).
The course, which is part of the Marine Science Center's continuing education courses, aims to identify invertebrate species, their health benefits and harms to humans, and their percentages in relation to other seafood.
The course included a lecture entitled (The nutritional value and safety of oysters and other bivalve species) delivered by researcher Dr. Nada Mufid Abdel Latif from the Marine Biology Department.
In it, I dealt with the classification of a group of bivalves belonging to the Na'im and described their importance and nutritional benefits to human health and their suitability for human consumption.
