Dr. Mahmoud Shaker Hashem from the Marine Biology Department at the Marine Science Center received a certificate of appreciation from the Monastery Agriculture Division, which he received from the Director of Basra Agriculture, Mr. Hadi Hassan, for the distinguished activity provided by the researcher in the field of beekeeping in the Division sector.
The doctor founded the Basra Association specialized in beekeeping and honey production as the first association in Iraq affiliated with the General Union of Agricultural Cooperative Societies in Iraq and headed it from 2012 until 2021.
He began his project with beekeeping in 1996 and continues his distinguished private activity in the governorate. He held many courses and workshops that disseminate the scientific foundations of beekeeping to agricultural employees, beekeepers, farmers, and rural youth.
Within the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education, the presidency of the University of Basra, and the Marine Sciences Center, to open up to society and provide important and useful job opportunities..
