A scientific research was published at the Marine Sciences Center at the University of Basra by Professor Dr. Majid Abdel Aziz Banai and Assistant Lecturer Fawzi Mustafa in the Department of Marine Vertebrates at the Center in cooperation with a researcher from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Mona Muhammad Juri, and in scientific cooperation from Charles Stewart University in Australia, entitled Research: “Infection and genetic detection of Ascardia nematode parasites that infect economic species of fish and cause significant losses.”
Infection and genetic detection of Hysterothylacium spp (Ascaridida: Raphidascaridinae) infesting Saurida tumbil (Bloch, 1795) and Platycephalus indicus (Linnaeus, 1758) fishes, Iraqi marine water fishes
  The research was published at the International Center for Agriculture and Bioscience International, an intergovernmental organization for development and information CABI (Center of Agriculture and Bioscience International) that focuses on agricultural and environmental issues in the developing world and creating scientific knowledge and organizing its dissemination.
