The Director General of the Marine Science Center attends a ministerial symposium

 

The Director General of the Marine Science Center, Professor Dr. Shaker Ghaleb Ajeel, attended a ministerial symposium on (the role of studies and research centers in the success of the government program). The symposium was attended by the presidents of the University of Basra, the University of Mosul, and the University of Anbar, which owns research centers and scientific studies, as well as the directors of the research centers.
The symposium included several topics, the most important of which were: the issue of desertification and the water crisis, as well as the issue of water salinity, in addition to the issue of sustainable development.
The symposium discussed climate challenges, the high rate of desertification, water scarcity, and the reduction of green spaces. The need to manage the water file in a professional and thoughtful manner, take precautionary measures to confront climate change, and work on a number of treatments to reduce water scarcity and its effects on agricultural reality. The attendees also stressed the need to allocate a budget. Especially for research centers to employ the outputs of research centers to solve the problems facing the country.
