Professor Dr. Abdul-Zahra Abdul-Rasool Al-Helou, a lecturer at the Marine Sciences Center at the University of Basra, attended a ministerial meeting on the maintenance of rivers and waters in Iraq. He chaired the meeting
The Technical Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Water Resources, the Advisor of the Ministry of Environment, and all members of the committee and those concerned from the competent departments
   The aim of the meeting is to modernize the system of maintaining rivers and public waters in Iraq from pollution No. 25 of 1967 and the development and fair distribution of water for all activities while adhering to environmental determinants and facilitating the work of the Ministry of Water Resources in a fair manner in all governorates and finding appropriate solutions to the challenges of the work of this system and exit With specific recommendations that contribute and help update the system and add more flexibility with the work of the Ministry of Resources and taking into account the impact of climate change on the environment.
