A teacher at the University of Basra publishes a scientific research in a scientific journal within the Scopus Q1 containers

 

The lecturer at the Center for Marine Sciences at the University of Basra, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Abdel-Ridha Lafta, the lecturer at the Department of Marine Physics, published a scientific research entitled General Characteristics of Tidal Currents at the entrance to Khor Abdullah in the northwest of the Arabian Gulf in the Oceanologia magazine, which is published by the international publishing house Elsevier and classified within the Scopus containers. Q1 and Clavate database with an impact factor of 2.5.
The study aimed to show the general characteristics of the tidal currents in the Iraqi marine waters because of their direct effects on the overall marine activities and the movement of ships in the region in addition to their impact on the transport of pollutants and sediments to and from the Iraqi marine channels. The study also showed that the area is characterized by strong tidal currents exceeding 1.5 meters per second, in addition to the presence of monthly and annual variation in the characteristics of these currents.
