The Impacts of climate changes on the Marine ecosystems in the Iraq Sea

 

 

An Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Bassal Mahmood, a member staff at the Marine Science Center, presented a continuing education course for the period 1-2/2023, as referred  above. It clarified the risks caused by climate change by affecting the physical and chemical properties and biological biodiversity within the regional scale in the Iraqi Sea - Norhwest of the Arabian/Persian Gulf . The results showed that there are severe risks affecting: communities associated with coral reefs, increased incidence of harmful algal blooms, primary productivity of phytoplankton, changes in coral species, outbreaks of jellyfish, benthic invertebrates and pelagic fish.
