The Marine Science Center organizes a scientific training course on the importance of nanoscience in environmental remediation

Within the continuing education program at the Center for Marine Sciences, University of Basra
A course was held in which Dr. Zuhair Ali, Dr. Ahmed Youssef and Dr. Enas Kassem gave scientific lectures on the importance of nanoscience
The course dealt with some basic concepts of nanoscience in environmental treatment, as the field of environmental protection is one of the most prominent applied fields that nanotechnology attaches great importance to, given the interrelationship between human health and the environmental conditions in which they live.
Nanotechnology is a technology that focuses on studying materials, understanding them, controlling them, and then controlling them in dimensions ranging from one to a hundred nanometers. Nanotechnology has provided various applications. Some of them are expected and others are amazing and unexpected, all of which are in the interest of society and science, as they helped improve many industrial and technological sectors and even revolutionized information technology, medicine, energy, transportation, security, environmental, food safety and other sectors as a result of the benefits of nanotechnology.
It was also widely used in the process of water purification using membrane osmosis, sedimentation, ion exchange, photocatalysts, nanofilms and adsorption. The course dealt with presenting some applied research in the field of water treatment with some pollutants.
