The Marine Science Center of the University of Basra organized a scientific lecture on molecular heterogeneity using ribosomal DNA spacers analysis to distinguish the parasite species Hysterothylacium spp (Ascaridida: Raphidascaridinae) that infects Saurida tumbil (Bloch, 1795) and Platycephalus indicus (Linnaeus, 1758) Fish in marine water Iraqi.
It was presented by the professor in the Department of Marine Vertebrates, Prof. Dr. Majid Abdulaziz Bannai
The lecture dealt with the importance of studying genetic variations in identifying species and using the genetic map accurately to obtain advanced scientific results.
The researcher also indicated the possibility of applying this protocol on other important species in the environment.
